Love Makes All The Difference. In Life and In HR

It is said that the only one true happiness in life is to love and be loved. As 2019 rolls on to February, love is very much the flavor of the month. As the world gets ready to pay homage to the enduring legacy of St Valentine, we think it’s as good a time as any to celebrate love. Not in the conventional context, but in a space where you might not always expect to see it assume center stage – HR!

Love is bedrock of good HR. Human Resources, as it abundantly clear from the term itself, is all about people. And nothing moves and motivates people as much as love. Companies that love their employees have already won half the battle to becoming great powerhouses of innovation and productivity. It’s the people who matter; the best companies know that intuitively. They go the extra mile to nurture them and cherish them.

AN INVESTMENT IN ROBUST DIGITAL HR IS A GREAT WAY TO TELL YOUR EMPLOYEES YOU CARE

Love – It is the one sphere of life where, more often than not, the effort is valued more than the end result. Companies that make the effort to set in place an infrastructure that empowers the workforce, that understands then and encourages them send out a strong signal to the team. In a work culture where employee experience is assuming paramount importance, an empathetic HR ecosystem is imperative.

Like any good relationship, we must be there for them through this entire journey.

LOVE MAKES THE WORLD GO AROUND. AND YOUR COMPANY TOO.

Creating an employee experience that helps your team flourish is critical in today’s business environment. A happier workforce is just the tip of the iceberg when it comes to the benefits of embracing and nurturing great employee experience. Companies that focused on making the employee feel valued and cared for had four times the average profit and more than twice the average revenue of those who didn’t.

Empathy for the employee is an imperative today. The mindset of today’s force is such that shifting jobs is more the rule than the exception. Our employees today are most restless than ever before – they constantly seek new roles, new opportunities. An HCM, the current context, must be sensitive to this need. Upskilling is urgent, having a fluid work structure is non-negotiable. Being in sync with your employees is a sure way of showing that you care; that they are loved and respected. Adopting Employee Experience as a strategic priority enables you to do just that.

LISTEN. LEARN. ENGAGE.

Brand’s today need to make a promise to leave no stone unturned in building a company that listens, that treasures dialogue. It must stand for free-flowing open communication and embody transparency at every level of the organization. Companies need to look beyond outdated practices and annual surveys in favour of creating a community and having regular ongoing dialogue that drives the kind of engagement that employees want.

ITS FEBRUARY. AND THERE IS NO BETTER TIME THAN NOW TO SHOW THE LOVE.
