A joint venture between UK based insurance giant Royal
& Sun Alliance and Sundaram Finance - Royal Sundaram
Alliance is a pioneer in the Indian insurance arena
This pioneering attitude extends to their HR side where
they aim at being at the progressive edge of people
management. They wanted to activate their vision of
an empowered, energized workforce, where intellectual
capital is utilized in close alignment to organizational
goals.
On the issues facing the people management side of
his organization, Prabhu Nambiappan, VP HR at Royal
Sundaram said that “The focus has to shift to
alignment of existing systems to deliver business goals;
improving service delivery; and periodic review of performance
metrics to validate and make course corrections / improvements.”
This forward looking attitude made them look for a
software that met their present needs, exploit their
existing systems, as well as evolve with their growth
plans – this meant a product that had vision,
was extremely scalable, rapidly deployable, yet made
economic & business sense for the size of enterprise
they were. Being, a young company, at the time of deployment
they only had 300 employees spread however, over 16
geographic locations, a reflection of their intended
growth plans. They have since grown to over 1000 employees.
